How is God using this current trouble?
1. To test the strength of our faith.
2. To humble us.
3. To wean us from earthly things.
4. To call us to heavenly hope.
5. To reveal what we truly love.
6. To help others in trial.
7. To bring Himself glory.
John MacArthur
The evidence of salvation is not sinless perfection, but a new relationship with God’s commandments, a real inclination toward them, a genuine desire to do them, a growing practical application of them, and real contrition when our neglect of them becomes obvious (I John 2:3-5).
Don't give me a "gospel" from your cultural fascinations.
The gospel has ONE text:
The Word of God
The gospel has ONE message:
Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
The gospel has ONE goal:
The salvation of sinners bound for hell.
The one who has been saved by faith begins to live a life of increasing conformity to God’s will, not by his own power or strength of will, but because he has been regenerated, he has been given a new nature, he has become a new creature and he has been indwelt by God's Spirit.
