@OleTimeHardball My Expos had lots in addition to Oil Can and Spaceman:
Gary Carter - The Kid
Andre Dawson - The Hawk
Tim Raines - Rock
Andres Galarraga - Big Cat
Randy Johnson - Big Unit
Dennis Martinez - El Presidente
Rusty Staub - Le Grand Orange
Al Oliver - Scoop
Rex Hudler: Wonder Dog
@Gibboanxious Both great films.
Pulp Fiction is a lot more rewatchable but I’m not ready to say it’s better.
It’s definitely a matchup of heavyweights…
“Rosebud” vs “Royale with Cheese”.
“Why did he say that?” vs. “Why do they call it that?”

@coopincanada Nice clip, thanks for posting. I remember when this happened, but wonder why Dave Van Horne was calling the game on NESN.
I’m thinking maybe this clip was a mash-up of audio from different broadcasts, or maybe he was doing a guest spot in the Boston booth.
@its_The_Dr Great episode.
Eventually, someone mentions that Paul is just getting out of the shower and running late, and the thought of Paul toweling off is what finally turns Norm off of the beer he’s drinking. 😆
@Expos4ever10 “Hate” is way too strong a word for a guy who was a huge reason for their success last year.
I know it’s a “what have you done for me lately” league and he was terrible in Toronto this year, but his 2025 contributions shouldn’t be so quickly forgotten.
@jaywood1983 Nice. I can’t seem to access that link without a subscription, but I’m pretty sure I still have several old baseball magazines from 1994 in storage including the Sporting News and numerous issues of Baseball Weekly.
Great minds think alike. 🫡
@uniformcritic I’m sure I watched this live. Love the old Expos footage, and enjoyed seeing Nettles finish his career in Montreal.
A few future Expos on the Padres side involved in this clip as well: Jimmy Jones and Randy Ready.
@bballdad44745@BlueJays Oh, didn’t realize it changed. I was thinking Ernie and Louis were locks given that Schneider will be the manager, but I guess he’ll have less clout than I thought.
Still, both should make the team if they keep at their current pace, and hopefully more teammates will join them.
@fansplainme Love the video and the Carter tribute. Followed. 👍
What happened to Montreal in ‘94 was the biggest kick in the teeth any fanbase has ever received. I’m convinced they would’ve won it all and I’ll never get over it. Then losing Grissom, Hill, Walker and Wetteland before ‘95 =💀
@DJRude1@fansplainme Montreal was indeed 2-4 against Cincinnati that year, but they didn’t play each other past June 1st, and the Expos kept getting better and stronger as the year progressed(they were 46-18 from June onward). Reds were good but ATL and SF (if they got in) were bigger threats, IMO.
@lhj757@Super70sSports True, Vladdy is often seen not busting it hard down the line. More so now than when he first came up. Lack of effort or trying to stay on the field long-term? Debatable.
In fairness, other times he’s rounding the bases furiously and diving headfirst into bases Pete Rose-style.
