What he’s saying ain’t completely wrong but it ain’t the full picture either. Young M.A, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott were never marketed for sex appeal and that matters. A lot of East Coast women don’t come in with that soft feminine image because they come from tougher environments so that tomboy energy is just natural. It’s hard to promote sexy when the audience connects with you being raw and authentic. Once you present yourself a certain way and it sells the industry usually not going to change it. You see that same grounded energy with Mary J. Blige and even Alicia Keys they come off more like real homegirls than polished sex symbols. I remember watching Alicia on Drink Champs with N.O.R.E. and she looked like a homegirl. They tried to flip that image before with Da Brat and that Roy Jones dating rumor and it backfired because it wasn’t real.
@djvlad Do you think Kaepernick was blackballed? No one would sign him after taking his team to the Superbowl. It’s definitely real… Jobs put people on the do not rehire list all the time bro
After two and a half years of hard work and continued effort until this 💎 was perfectly polished, I am proud to present MICHAEL - a generational statement.
I am grateful for all that I have been blessed to see. Thank you God.
