One of the most common inquiries we receive from clients is: "How can I start a business without capital?"
To that, our response is: "Are you sure that you don't have capital?"
Often, we neglect the different ways we can take advantage of our surrounding resources to get capital to start or grow our businesses.
Do you have any item, no matter how small, that you can sell? That's capital.
Do you have any regular expense that you can downgrade? That's capital.
Do you have any family or friends who could invest in your business? That's capital.
Do you have any profitable skills? That's capital.

“Fixed income feels comforting but the real power comes from effort, discipline, and resources you build by investing it.” - Mr. Charles Ocici, Director General Enterprise Uganda.
Such was the message from today’s Dual Career Entrepreneurship training session for public servants from different MDAs, where we tackled the shift from employment to entrepreneurship and how to walk the journey early, so it’s not your first attempt in retirement.
We confronted the ‘no time’ excuse, along with topics such as personal finance, multiple income streams, and mindset change, among others.

We had a spectacular time in Namutumba during last week's Essential Skills Workshop (ESW) for the Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) Project.
The GROW Project is headed by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development & funded by The World Bank.
It supports women entrepreneurs in achieving financial independence by providing loans, apprenticeships, and financial literacy. Through the ESW, Enterprise Uganda educates these enterprising women on how to correctly run their businesses.

"A loan is not the problem. The taker of the loan is the problem." - Charles Ocici, Director General of Enterprise Uganda
Countless business tycoons have fallen due to inability to pay back their loans.
This doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with taking a loan. The problem comes when loans are taken carelessly. They are great sources of business capital as long as you pay attention to the stipulations and ensure to only borrow what you can comfortably pay back!
