Congratulations to the Neurosurgeons team at @AMCHDibrugarh for successfully performing Neuroendoscopy on a patient and removing the brain tumour. Wishing the patient a speedy recovery.

The team of surgery was led by Prof. (Dr) B.K. Baishya, senior Neurosurgeon, Director of CN Centre, @gmchgauhati , Dr Dhruba Jyoti Kurmi, Dr Pratosh Paul, Dr Nayanjeet Deka and Dr Chintu Patowary. The Anesthesiology team was led by Prof. Dr Diganta Saikia, Dr R.P. Tayung and Dr Rini. Nursing staff was led by Ms. Rina Lawriniang and Mrs Padmini Gohain. The OT assistant was led by Mr Pranjal Saikia.

In CME and workshop on parotid surgery by ENT Dept. FAAMCH (3-4 Nov 2023), 4 parotid surgeries were performed live.
best post graduate paper was awarded (Prof) Dr. Dilip Baruah award.

A cme cum live workshop on parotid surgery was held on the 3rd and 4th of november, 2023 in the Department of ENT, FAAMCH with overwhelming participation from various colleges of the state and West bengal. (Prof)Dr. N. Brian Shunyu was the guest faculty for the event.

Glad to share that one female patient from Bangladesh came on medical visa and operated for cancer of left parotid gland in FAAMCH, Barpeta, previously operated in Bangladesh.

Operated on 9/06/2023 in the Department of ENT by HOD & his team.
Planned for discharge tomorrow.

The patient underwent left sided total parotidectomy with Selective Neck Dissection. Post Belly of Digastric helped us in tracing the Facial trunk (retrograde). Post op patient doing well, NO obvious complications noted.

Parapharyngeal Tumors are rare (0.5 to 01% incidence). Approaches can be Transcervical, Transparotid, Transmandibular or mixed. Challenges are many wrt all Imp. Neurovascular structures in PPS.
