I am ecstatic to share that I will be joining the Department of Entomology at the University of California, Riverside as an Assistant Professor in Chemical Ecology and Behavior of Insects in Jan. 2026! Looking forward to this next chapter and thankful for support along the way!
Support the Entomology Opportunity Scholarship during this year’s UCR Day of Giving! Provides research opportunities for undergraduates that experience social, cultural or financial barriers that may otherwise prevent participation. Thanks for your help! https://t.co/j0A2aq3DW5
Excited to share our latest publication on volatile-mediated interactions between plants and insect herbivores, pollinators, and natural enemies!! Here, we review the literature on volatile multifunctionality and propose new ideas! https://t.co/JMx1r9EBR4
Giving a seminar later this week at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire!! @UWEauClaire Looking forward to connecting with students and sharing my research!!
Last week, I was invited to share my postdoctoral research at the @UMDEntomology Department Retreat. We are finding that neighboring tree diversity impacts leaf phenotypic expression and induces trade-offs against different consumers. More coming soon!!
I had a great time sharing recent work at the Ecological Society of America Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD!! Always nice to meet new folks and reconnect with others!! @karinburghardt@plantinsectppl
Congratulations to this hard-working team of Aggie Research Scholars! Rachel, Jack, Jayda, and Gage. We were so fortunate to have you as a part of our lab and are proud of you for your accomplishments. Looking forward to seeing what you will achieve next after graduation.
Check out our recent publication on plant defense strategies!! We found that plants favor tolerance against belowground root-feeders compared to aboveground insect herbivores and much more!! @HelmsLab@JackWasTweeting https://t.co/cWbu7JhFHQ
📢 If you study insect behavior and plant volatiles, contribute to our special collection in Environmental Entomology, "Plant Volatiles in Insect Pest Management and Sustainable Agriculture" ! Manuscripts due Aug 15; DM/email for details & please share! @ECP_Entsoc@EntsocAmerica
I really enjoyed sharing my research with folks at UMD during the Department of Entomology weekly seminar series! Great to be back in Maryland and diving into a new study system! 🐛🌳
.@EntoThompson is Bug-ack @UofMaryland sharing findings from her doctoral research - how cucurbit plants handle herbivory. A postdoc now, she is excited to continue investigations into insect communities, branching out into a new study system - trees!🐛🌳https://t.co/VksjEYXiDR
I graduated!! Endless gratitude to my PhD advisor, Dr. Anjel Helms @HelmsLab, who is an amazing scientist/mentor/friend/colleague. Very thankful for a great experience at @tamuentomology. In January, I will start a postdoc with @karinburghardt@plantinsectppl at @UMDEntomology!
I had a great time at ESA this year in Phoenix, AZ! It was a wonderful opportunity to share my research, connect with colleagues and friends, and host an exciting symposium on plant volatiles and insect behavior!
