Temperatures will be heating up again late this week.
At the same time, offshore flow will develop with low relative humidity and moderate breezes. This combination will produce elevated fire danger Friday through Sunday for most of the area. #wawx
This could be a bad situation come Friday.
A tight offshore gradient develops and winds in the foothill gaps "could" make for a very bad firewx situation.
Would not be surprised to see KSEA-WFO issue "some" type of discussion for this.
As we move into the weekend we’re seeing a little more ⚡️⚡️⚡️lightning in the PNW. From Thursday, July 28 to the 29th we saw 23 lightning strikes in the region – 16 in OR and 7 in WA.
Isolated thunderstorms will also continue mainly over south central OR in the afternoons.

*UPDATE*From @waDNR_fire#FISHFIRE Incident Commander- No new fire growth today, fire is 100% lined, continuing with mop up. Logging operation will begin tomorrow This will remove the public safety hazard before reopening highway 410 east of #enumclaw
Reminder: SR 410 east of #Enumclaw will remain closed this weekend and into next week due to the #FishFire. We need to assess the slope conditions and determine the extent of repairs needed before we can reopen the highway. Photos from yesterday ⬇️
Update - After using GPS around the perimeter, the #FishFire is burning 120 acres. East winds have calmed, bringing more westerly flow in late this afternoon. This fire is 10% contained.
This super massive cloud of smoke is likely headed our way tomorrow. Remember how bad it was earlier this week? Think that. Except the smoke isn't from new fires, but fires in Oregon and California.
Start preparing today.
#wawildfire#wawx
Update - The #FishFire has burned 150 acres in thick timber approx. 6 miles outside of #Enumclaw. Highway 410 is still closed. Ground and air resources are on scene. They're hopeful the contingency road that is around the whole fire will aid in containment.
*1st System: This Afternoon-Tonight*
Expect snow to push into the Puget Sound area later this afternoon and continue into the early overnight hours. There will be a BRIEF break in precipitation tomorrow morning before the next system arrives. #WAwx
