Teenage Cancer Trust Youth Support Coordinator by day. Illustrator and Surface pattern designer by night. Extroverted introvert? She/her. Views are my own.
I took a small but very real leap & joined a year long course in Children’s picture book illustration. It’s just 1 day a week alongside my busy @TeenageCancer youth support coordinator role- I’m looking forward to seeing the work I’ll produce over this coming year. #studentagain
It’s release day! The podcast episode went live- in this episode I have the privilege of speaking with 2 very thoughtful and kinds souls about their experiences in treatment and of my role as a @TeenageCancer youth support coordinator. 🎙️❤️

Lovely @TeenageCancer peer support event hosted in Hilda (a Pinterest lovers dream plant shop hospital)! We learned how to repot and care for our houseplants! Look forward to seeing how the young people’s plants grow with them moving forward!

This month is Teenage & Young Adult Cancer Awareness Month. I asked some of the young people I work with what they want other people to know about what it’s like being a young person with cancer. They chose to share:

Lovely to see young people getting creative while connecting with peers at our Edinburgh @TeenageCancer ceramic painting event this evening! The talent in the room blew me away! Can’t wait to see their finished pieces!

A little creative magic from the young people who came to our Halloween party at the 16+ Edinburgh @TeenageCancer ward- ghostie candles and spooky cakes galore!

Today @Miles4Lothian and @jackiebmsp visited one of our units in Edinburgh to meet with staff and some of the young people they support. We look forward to continuing to work together to raise awareness of the needs of young people with cancer across Scotland.
Lovely to see @TeenageCancer out and about at conferences! Annnd I haven’t seen this new ‘life after treatment’ booklet- look forward to reading that later ☺️

The “What do you want to do when you finish treatment?” leads to interesting conversations- I want to swim with pigs in the Bahamas (failing that I want to adopt a micro pig and call it Dave). The girl has visions and I love it!

Had a lovely zen @TeenageCancer meet up this evening creating our own little terrarium worlds at local plant hospital Hilda in Edinburgh. Thank you @AldiUK for your support- we had a nice bunch of goodies to keep us going throughout the workshop!
