Thank you to the Save Bessboro campaign for hosting me today.

All those buried at Bessboro were loved. They deserve to be remembered, named and treated with dignity by all of our society.

The Government must now acknowledge what we already know: Bessboro must be preserved as a site of national conscience.

The Government must act with urgency to bring the site into public ownership, ensure a full and proper investigation and excavation of the land, and preserve it for present and future generations.
