Ireland has the highest electricity prices in the EU. 319,000 homes in arrears. A fifth of the grid feeding data centres that run 24/7. And a government that insists, straight-faced, that none of this is related.
Denial isn’t a policy.
The revival of the Irish language across Ireland is something we should all be proud of.
That is why it is so disappointing to hear the Minister for Education say there will be no new Gaelscoileanna or Gaelcholaistí until at least 2032. At a time when demand for Irish-medium education is growing, this is a missed opportunity.
Tá sé de cheart ag gach páiste a oideachas a fháil trí mheán na Gaeilge. Every child should have the right to be educated through our first national language. The demand is there, we need more Gaelscoileanna and Gaelcholaistí now. Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam 🇮🇪

Just your occasional reminder that the Middle East has been on fire for 78 years because the West decided that a pastoral West Asian people in a country smaller than Luxembourg would pay the price for the Holocaust.
“Sinn Féin… It comes from the tradition of socialist republicanism - rooted in anti-imperialism, the struggle for rights, democratic sovereignty, equality and the belief that political and economic power should serve ordinary working people.”
Keir Starmer is leaving workers and families high and dry during this cost of living crisis.
We have asked for a meeting to make clear just how hard people are finding it to make ends meet, and to press for action.
This has not happened.
People work hard to get by. They deserve to be supported.
I won’t give up, I’ll keep fighting for our workers, families, and communities.
Ireland should refuse to play Israel. You don’t share a pitch with a genocidal state and call it sport. Forfeit the 6 points. Rally the world. Embarrass UEFA.
🚨July Provision Applications to reopen next week!
@PearseDoherty and I fought hard this week to get applications for July Provision reopened. It was a cruel decision by government to close the window after just one week. It left many children with additional needs without vital educational summer support. It caused real upset for children, parents and teachers.
I welcome that the decision has been reversed and the application system will reopen from next week. This can never happen again. Children with additional needs and their families deserve better.
Labour are NOT a party of the left. They never were. They are a mudguard party for the centre-right. Some of their own party members, incredibly, still don't understand this, even though their party leader has shown them time and time again. 🤷🏻♀️
Mad stuff from Bacik this morning . Openly stating she wants to exclude SF & PBP
Deluded.
She saw how Labour transfers elected Fine Gael in Galway and she clearly wants a Labour/SocDems/Green and Fine Gael govt
Even RTÉ says it looks like she’s building a “mudguard” for FG/FF
