Lobbying has been at the centre of popular discussions regarding the EU this year – but are you aware of the history of Public Affairs?
When did lobbying originate?
Transparency is at the core of how we work at EPACA – we believe that this should be the foundation of public affairs.
Our Code of Conduct implements this value in practice.

So #PublicAffairs professionals are a vital link between the business world, civil society & policymakers in our democratic process. EPACA ensures that role is taken on with the utmost professionalism & transparency. Learn more on our website : https://t.co/VV6MK7FHT6 (3)
Thread alert🧵! Lobbying is an everyday practice, yet it sometimes has negative connotations - despite being a regulated part of the policy-making process. EPACA and its members strive for ethical and transparent lobbying. But do you know what that really means? (1)
The @EU_Commission defines lobbying as the attempt to influence others with facts and arguments. That means that all those involved in EU policy making - from Commission staff to Commissioners to MEPs and PA specialists - all engage in lobbying to some extent. (2)
Through our 'gold standard' EPACA Charter, we've been at the forefront of establishing the highest standards for #PublicAffairs in Brussels.
