Wadosi Wakenya Wote, I come in Peace and humility.
The vote for the Finance Bill happened yesterday; disappointingly, I was not in Parliament. I travelled out of the Country on Wednesday evening for engagements that could not have been postponed. But no explanation should absolve the blame.
As for the feedback we have received from all Kenyans, we take it with humility. All the feedback will go a long way in making us better as we discharge our duties in Parliament and outside as we serve the great people of Kenya.
We have always been available and forthright in debating both the Appropriations Bill and the Finance Bill on the committee and on the floor of the house as a commitment to giving a different and alternative view. This has also been an important platform of informing Kenyans on the things that affect them, the businesses, investment decisions and the Economy in general.
Whereas this is important, we also must acknowledge the fact that Parliament is in an unprecedented phase where both the Majority and the Minority leadership are on the same side thereby making it difficult to effectively act as an institution of oversight. That’s why we choose to do it both inside and outside.
On the proposals we had on reducing fuel prices, we had the opportunity to appear before the relevant committees. Unfortunately, the Finance Committee did not include the proposals in their final report. The alternative that was left was that of initiating a private member bill. However, this was deemed as a “Money Bill” and could not be carried as an amendment in the Finance Bill on the Floor. It had to take its own course. The guidance from relevant offices in parliament was that we initiate the process after the Finance bill process since most officers of parliament and especially the Parliament Budget Office were engaged in the process of Finance Bill and Appropriations Bill.
The process will now continue on a different path.
I have taken time to read the feedback from Kenyans and it is clear that; we carry an immense responsibility that we should always live up to.
We are glad that together, we have achieved many things through debate, talking about them in forums & media and sharing information. To cite just two;
In December, we were able to speak forthrightly about the plan to hike School Fees for Day Secondary Schools. The plan was shelved, not by the involvement of Parliament; but by the government knowing that Kenyans were aware.
Earlier this year, we took up the issue of the 15% GoK sale of Safaricom shares. While the majority of numbers prevailed in Parliament, the Judiciary sided with our view and money has never changed hands. The sale has never been effected.
We have taken it upon ourselves to tabulate, collate and analyse Economic related information which we always quietly and gladly share with leaders both in Parliament and outside for better oversight and alternative viewpoints.
Personal comfort would call for us to be quiet at critical moments, but it is unpatriotic to seek comfort over what is right.
As human as we are, we are far from being perfect and we will always seek to learn from the feedback we receive.
Asanteni sana.
We are African and Africa is our Business.
I documented all meetings between President Ruto and Wicknell Chivayo since he started posting publicly on Twitter. This was 5th January 2025 (I think this is Eldoret or Sugoi).

Tourism in Laikipia has been affected after hotels reported cancellations linked to fears over a proposed Ebola quarantine facility in the area.
The county says it was not consulted on the project, which is now the subject of a court case.
1. No. of Kenyans killed in Nanyuki Ebola protests: 3
2. No. of Kenyans killed by Ebola: 0
3. No. of Americans killed by Ebola: 0
Ruto has now killed more Kenyans on Kenyan soil than Ebola has
Dear @USEmbassyKenya, are you happy that your Ebola facility is costing Kenyan lives?

It is unfortunate and uncalled for any public official, to suggest that Kenyans should not be consulted, informed, or engaged on matters with potential implications for public health. Public confidence in health policy is built through openness, transparency, and accountability, not through dismissing legitimate public interest.
Listen guys, this is very serious and you must act now or you will suffer the consequences of inaction. The coming El Niño is not a warning it is a direct threat to lives, infrastructure, and entire local economies.
Governors, stop political campaigns and focus immediately on disaster preparedness. We have already seen the danger: in Nairobi County, floods have killed residents, destroyed homes, and stranded families without warning. This is exactly what will happen across vulnerable counties if urgent action is not taken.
In Narok County, the risk is even greater. Narok West, Emurua Dikirr, and Narok South will become completely inaccessible without elevated, all-weather bridges. The Double Cross area and the Mara Bridge in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve are a disaster waiting to happen once rivers rise, crossings will be cut off within hours, shutting down tourism and trapping people without access to help. Without urgent bridge upgrades, you are leaving lives and livelihoods exposed.
The economic damage will be immediate and severe. Flooding in the Maasai Mara can shut down tourism overnight, isolate lodges, and wipe out millions in revenue. This will affect not just businesses, but entire communities that depend on tourism. This cannot wait. Counties must act now working with engineers, national agencies, the private sector, and insurance companies to protect infrastructure and livelihoods. If you fail to act, the human and economic cost will be yours to answer for. You have been warned!
Kumbe Elwak-Modogashe road was Uhuru Kenyatta’s project under the World Bank. Uhuru Kenyatta signed it, 750M US dollars. Among other projects ie Wajir Stadium
Ruto is joy riding on Uhuru’s projects. I have highlighted some
"You're f****** crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your a***. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."
That's what a U.S. official tells Axios President Trump unloaded on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a heated phone call over Israel's military actions in Lebanon.
Trump was reportedly furious that Israel's moves risked blowing up U.S. diplomatic efforts in the region, at one point also asking Netanyahu: "What the f*** are you doing?"
Open Morality Letter to KeNHA DG Eng. Luka Kipchumba Kimeli
Two dates matter here.
The day UoN accepted you for Civil Engineering.
And February 17, 2026 when @KeNHAKenya made you DG.
I imagine your parents wept with joy.
I imagine engineering legends like Tesla and Edison crossed your mind.
I imagine “I’ll change the world like they did.” Has been in your mind as an engineer.
Then fate handed you exactly that chance. The KeNHA board said you’re the one.
So here’s my moral question to you.
Your contractor on Chiromo Road to Westlands roundabout scraped the old tarmac, laid new road, then stopped DEAD at his contract boundary.
And Didn’t cross ONE inch past it.
They left a 4 meter unrepaired ditch right at the Westlands roundabout joining road that they dugout themselves.
Let me show you what 4 meters means:
4 lanes × 3.5m × 4m = 56m²
56 square meters is holding all of Westlands hostage daily.
A deliberate move so the contractor can pressure KeNHA for more contract miles.
Meanwhile innocent kenyan taxpayers pay with their time, fuel and sanity every single day.
I won’t call you corrupt. No.
But I will call you inept. And I will call this moral bankruptcy.
UoN made you an engineer. KeNHA made you DG.
You have to make you decent, decent enough to know this is wrong and unacceptable.
And before you imagine I was sent by Wamunyoro or anyone else, I wasn’t.
I’m just a decent citizen who believes if I sat in your chair, I wouldn’t let this stand.
Moral citizenry costs nothing.
This was only a morality tweet.
The owner of the dogs has come out finally. The president of Kenya is complaining over the death of a Rachel Wandeto instead of looking for justice. The DCI has already said it was not about the tatoo. Instead of talking about the fuel crisis, he's picking from where Murkomen & Mama Amina left,, trying to profile a whole community. Maajabu ya Musa.
PARLIAMENTARY PROCESS - FUEL PRICES: Following the proposals to Parliament with the intention to lower various taxes and levies to reduce fuel prices, I’m glad Parliament has responded and the process has taken off. We’ll be appearing before the relevant committees hopefully next week as part of the process.
The proposals are independent of whatever discussions other sectors of the economy will be having. Whereas rising prices directly affect the transport sector, they also affect all Kenyans directly and indirectly.
Our intention is to;
Reduce VAT by 8% and make the products VAT exempt.
Reduce Ksh 7 Fuel levy that was added in 2024.
Reduce profit margin of importers and distributors.
Provision an additional Subsidy of Ksh 5Bn for Petro.
The measures will reduce price of Diesel by approximately Ksh 54 per Litre.
