The last week has been difficult. Please continue to focus on those impacted by the reduction in force.
The industry is in a scary place right now employment wise. Wishing the best to all who need it, and hope to help where possible.
Throughout almost 5 years working on @DestinyTheGame, the main processes I contributed to were our static marketing assets including Gear & Character Composites, & Key Art, working in the amazing Creative Studios team.💠
Here's some highlights. Let me know your favorite piece!
Last week was incredibly difficult.
I want to start by saying that my role was not cut, but almost my entire core team, excluding a small portion of us, are gone.
The Creative Studios team was part of the creative talent behind many of the visual marketing and brand assets you've seen for @DestinyTheGame and @MarathonTheGame over the years. The team was formed when @Bungie became a self-publisher in 2019, growing out of a much smaller group then known as VizD, or Visual Development. We were a small but mighty team, carrying forward a legacy of supporting marketing content for Halo and other early Bungie games.
Since 2019, our team grew to more than 30 people in order to sustainably support live service trailers, key art, logos, screenshots, composites, gameplay capture, motion graphics, production, technical capture infrastructure, and more. Working side by side with marketing and game developers, we worked closely within our own team and with a wide network of external creative agencies and freelancers to produce Bungie's player-facing marketing creative.
I had the privilege of helping build the Creative Studios art team as Bungie became a self-publisher and personally hired many of the talented artists and leaders across the team. Watching them grow into their roles and become the exceptional creatives or managers they are today will always remain one of the highlights of my career and one of the best parts of my job here.
Creative Studios was so much more than just a team to work with. It was a tight nit group of talented, thoughtful, and inspiring people, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of it.
To my peers in Creative Studios: you have been at the heart of so much of what makes Bungie special. Your creativity, passion, and vision helped shape the marketing visuals for games and worlds that so many players love. I truly hope you can look back at what we created together and feel proud, not only of the work itself, but of the impact each of you personally made.
Thank you for everything you gave to this team and to each other. Thank you for showing up for one another, for trusting me, for bringing so much talent and care to the work, and for making this team a true unicorn in an industry that rarely makes space for something this special.
I'm going to miss working with all of you more than I can put into words.
If you're a hiring manager, Art Director, or Creative Director hiring for the roles I listed above, please reach out. I'd be happy to share thoughtful recommendations based on your specific needs.
This is a recall notice for guardians at home and abroad.
On 7/7, we run it back. For the friends we've made, loved ones we've lost, and the devs who sacrificed buckets of blood for this game, return this Bungie Day.

I genuinely can’t imagine how fucking dumb you have to be to layoff so much of the Destiny team - but ESPECIALLY the Raid and Dungeon team.
Literally some of the most creative, passionate, and skilled developers on the planet thrown to your competitors like they are nothing.
One of the workflows I helped advance and lead for Destiny 2 was our static compositing pipeline for marketing visuals.
When we were creating marketing content for #Destiny2, we always needed strong key visuals for weapons, characters, abilities, and other in-game elements. Unlike a traditional gameplay screenshot, where everything is baked into one static image, composited shots let us isolate individual elements and light them more precisely. That gave us a lot more flexibility to build scenes with better legibility, clearer focus, stronger lighting, improved contrast, and a more intentional overall look.
One of the biggest strengths of compositing is having access to individual layers in Photoshop. That layered approach not only makes the editing process easier, but also makes the final artwork much more flexible. Images can be adapted for trailer motion graphics, reworked for print, or pushed further as creative needs evolve.
@DestinyTheGame composites are built using Adobe Photoshop alongside in-game captures. Using advanced development tools, we light, capture, and isolate characters, weapons, and props directly from the game environment, all of which were originally created by the talented @Bungie 3D art teams. Those assets are then brought into Photoshop, where they’re cut out and assembled into custom scenes using layered compositions and visual effects.
The composites highlighted below are a few of the Destiny 2 pieces I’ve worked on that are meaningful to me. Let me know what your favorite is!

If I was a Rival Company to SONY, I'd make a New Studio and hire everyone laid off at Bungie.
You'd have teams from Raid and Dungeon, Cinematics, Sandbox, etc. Who made some of the best gaming content ever.
Just make sure Leadership isn't fucking idiots and sky's the limit lol
Pantheon 2 is the last thing I will have worked on at Bungie.
Despite everything it has been an honor to work on Destiny 2. Please know with deep sincerity that we wanted more than anything to make you smile. See you starside, Guardians
This is the moment to support the developers. If you see someone who was a former Bungie Dev and you have the ability to boost their work, now is a time to do it.
My heart goes out to the Destiny 2 Team. This isn't fair, especially when you all worked so hard to right the ship.
this really feels like the end of Destiny as we know it
i don’t think we'll ever see another Destiny release again
heartbreaking to see what has become of Bungie, a studio that helped define an entire generation of FPS games
Guardians: We need your help.
Send this message far and wide. On Bungie Day--7/7--we run it back.
Return to the tower. Light up the charts. Show the world what Legends are made of.
Rise, Guardians. Until the walls collapse.

The Trump thing is because whatever zoomer runs the White House account just sees what’s trending at any given time and makes some AI bullshit out of it
I have been affected by this.
Thank you for tweeting at, interacting, and reading my posts from the @DestinyTheGame accounts all these years.
If your team is looking for a world class Social Media Manager and Communicator, let me know!

I had the opportunity to work on the evergreen Key Art that will serve as the primary Destiny 2 artwork across all platforms moving forward.
With the final Destiny 2 update, we wanted to create an impactful image that could represent the franchise without trying to capture too many elements from across the game. With that in mind, we chose to center the piece on the Traveler and the visual themes of Light and Darkness. It also acts as a visual companion to the original Destiny 1 Traveler artwork, which featured the Traveler above Earth.
To create this artwork, I began by setting up custom lighting and capturing in-game screenshots of the Last City Traveler, created by our incredibly talented @Bungie skybox team. From there, I painted over the traveler itself in Photoshop, pushing the lighting and overall tone to create a moodier, sunrise-inspired look that better reflects @DestinyTheGame identity and the journey we've been on.
I finished the artwork by compositing Earth behind the Traveler and adding a radial and our classic topology hatch marks around the scene to help reinforce Destiny's visual identity.
