In another scenario though, for example when Aang was trying to find Sonam,

He had to go far back before he found someone who had heard of her

If he had only Roku to guide him he wouldn't have found out anything

It makes no sense to say the experience of thousands of Avatars is useless

Just admit your fave ruined a good thing and move on

then patiently wait for the Winter Solstice so sunlight could hit the ruby
