During the last Tuesday we had our final design review. All teams prepared their slides and made sure to cover all the semester work. It was good to see how each team's project improved from what it was at the beginning. #EPICSPurdue
And just to end up the semester with the finishing touch .Our seeds are now more than sprouts. They are now all grown and beginning their vegetative stage. Here are near to produce our lovely green beans. #EPICSPurdue

The Hydroponics Team - update
On the week 11 we are now able to see a progress on the beans germination. Beans from the model four, the ones that are placed on paper napkins and water, are now sprouting!!!! #EPICSPurdue
The Mobile Lab Team is hard at work designing a custom 3-D print design to aid in one of their experiments. We are making great progress in testing our new experiments for our chemistry-based mobile lab. @EPICSPurdue
Like every Tuesday each project of the Haiti EPICS team presented PIGS. During this week PIGS presentation was focused on the decision matrix about the materials, CAD models, and budget each project is going to chose for the construction of their model.
Team Haiti is back! We had our first meeting of the spring semester over Zoom this week, and we are very excited to have new members and a new subteam— composting— this semester. Looking forward to getting lots done!
Final Fall Update (3/3):
Team Hydroponics is working towards building a system that will be used to teach students at the Le Refuge School how to grow plants using hydroponic agriculture. They have done extensive research and have prototyped in CAD and using cardboard. Nice work!
Final Fall Update (2/3):
Team MobileLabs is working on providing biology and chemistry labs to students at the Le Refuge School in Haiti. They have researched experiments & Haitian education, decided which labs they will prepare, and are working on instruction manuals for them.
Final Fall Update (1/3):
Team Microloans has been working towards the goal of helping potential female business owners in Haiti. They have done research on Haiti’s culture, markets, & business tactics. They have completed the 2nd draft of their informational brochure. Great job!
Team Haiti had their final design reviews yesterday. Great job to each of the subteams! Special thank you to all of our reviewers for joining us virtually and for their great feedback!
Update: The teams are wrapping up a good semester of hard work! As of last week Microloans was finishing up the final draft of their brochure, Mobile Labs was completing their teacher & student manuals, and Hydroponics polished up their fertilizer decision matrix!
Team Hydroponics finished their cardboard prototype of the drip system based on their conceptual design! This system will be used by the students at the Le Refuge School in Haiti to grow plants like tomatoes and beans.
