It's difficult to describe the epicness of this race! It started raining about two hours after the start and never really stopped. I finished the 85k in 17 hours 30 minutes, wet, tired and hungry 😃Thank you all so much for the support #epilepsy community!
@BrainAblaze Yep, I've been an endurance athlete before my diagnosis and didn't stop running ultramarathons after my diagnosis 💪 Being physically active and challanging myself is SO important for my mental health 💜 #epilepsyWarrior
Since I currenly can't run ( health related issues) I will be volunteering on some races 😌 the first one is on Sunday, a 71k mountain trail run. I miss it so much it hurts... but I'd rather help out other runners than sit around home feeling sorry for myself 🙂 #epilepsy
Every time I have to skip going to work because of a seizure I feel like such a failure and let down 😔 I know it's not my fault, but I can literally feel ppl's disappointment in my constant days off #epilepsy#realtalk
@davidjn_7 Thank you so much! Maybe running ultra distances and challenging myself physically is a result of me feeling weak and out of control due to epilepsy and seizures. Anyways I'm so glad I'm able to so it! 💜💪
@Shady_Pines_Ma_ Oh my, I'm so sorry that happened to you 😞 my boss is pretty understanding, considering I can also work from home, but after a seizure I am literally useless for at least a couple of days and I'm not sure how much longer he's going to be understanding
@jacob2204 Oh I never take a day off unless I literally can't get up from bed. To answer your question, I currently don't for health reasons, but hopefully I'll be back on the trails real soon 😊
@jacob2204 Yeah i thought that's what you mean ☺ thank you! I know that it's not and I'm trying to focus on my health more than my job. It's just hard sometimes you know?
About 1% of the population of the earth currently has Epilepsy. Even if you don't think you know a person with Epilepsy, if you know more than 100 people odds are you probably do. Retweet if you have Epilepsy. #EpilepsyAwareness
@vanwalterop I'm scared to change my meds again, because ever since I had the neurotop added I have seizures once or twice a week, opposed to having daily seizures before they added it. But if the meds are messing me up, they will probably have to change them again 🙄☠
Not running currenly due to dangerrously low hemoglobin and red blood cells levels, which probably means I will need red blood cells transfusion done soon. My hematologist thinks my anti-seizre drugs cocktail is to blame. Has anyone encountered similar problems? #epilepsy
@AndyisLive It started off by just me feeling tired but then got to the point where I literally lose my breath just taking a few steps at home. If the therapy I'm currently on doesn't work, I'm gonna have to get transfusion
