GOOD FRIDAY Almighty God, we pray you graciously to behold this yr family, for whom our Lord Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed, & given into the hands of sinners, & to suffer death upon the cross; who now lives & reigns w/ you & the Holy Spirit, one God, forever&ever. Amen.

#PFII24: Gratitude for the 3 Indigenous Episcopalians representing at the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues' 24th session: Ronald Braman (Eastern Shoshone, Dio Idaho), Melissa Chapman Skinner (Standing Rock, Dio ND) & Charleigh Bass (Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, Dio ND).
They contributed to the Forum members' dialogue with Indigenous Peoples and made an intervention on the importance of funding for the ongoing work of racial reconciliation and healing within the context of the future work of the Permanent Forum.
While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead?
But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; then he went home, amazed at what had happened.
Luke 24:1-12 On the first day of the week, at early dawn, the women who had come with Jesus from Galilee came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in, they did not find the body.

Now there was a garden in the place where he was crucified, and in the garden there was a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid. And so, because it was the Jewish day of Preparation, and the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.
