Goodbye from us..,
After 67 years and several millions of pounds donated to Epsom’s hospitals, we’ve held our ‘last supper’, and this is our last Twitter post. The Friends’ charity has merged with the @esth charity, which now contains a designated Epsom Friends fund. 1/2

Following our recent Extraordinary General Meeting, our trustees are now empowered to proceed with closing our charity. We have donated several million pounds to Epsom’s hospitals since the 1960s; thank you to all our members and supporters over the years. 1/2

If you would like to continue to support Epsom Hospital, the @EsthCharity will be able to accept donations through their Friends of Epsom Fund. Once the merger of our two charities is complete we will make one final announcement and this Twitter (X) account will then close.

It is with great sadness that we report that our President, Dr Geoffrey Robb, passed away last week. Until recently, Geoffrey had been long-time Chair of the Friends, and his contributions to our charity and to Epsom Hospital over several decades have been substantial.

Not long to go now…the Therapy Garden at Epsom Hospital we’ve funded is almost complete. It will be officially opened by Dr Geoffrey Robb on 1st November. @EpsomCivicSoc @geshNHS

The Langley Therapy Garden we’re funding should be completed by early October. A garden for anyone in Epsom Hospital to use to help their recovery.

Our members and supporters will learn more at our AGM next month. Our final act has been to donate a quarter of a million pounds to create a much needed therapy garden at Epsom Hospital.

@EpsomCivicSoc @bbcsoutheast Thank you for highlighting our final major project. We should mention, however, that our therapy garden isn’t the (worthy) one in the BBC report. Construction of ours begins this week and it will serve the Mary Seacole and related units at Epsom Hospital. An exciting development.
