Cops, firefighters, EMTs may all have different titles and responsibilities but they are all first responders. They risk their lives to protect ours -- EMTs often risk their lives to protect fellow first responders. They deserve pay parity and they deserve it now. #EqualPayForEMS

EMS workers are paid substantially less than other uniformed services.

This sends the wrong message that we don't value the critical services they provide.

We cannot pit first responders against each other. When others run out, they run in.

EMS workforce deserves pay parity.

[Ydanis Rodriguez @ydanis]

There is no excuse. It’s time we have equal pay for equal work for all First Responders in Emergency Services across the City!!! @NYCCouncil hearing for Fire and Emergency Magmt Committee. #Local2507

As a former first responder of color, I stand in solidarity with our EMTs and paramedics who are rallying today and rightfully pursuing #payequity. These lifesavers are hard-working professionals who are wholly underpaid compared to their @FDNY brethren. https://t.co/F1Z8ti2Rsl
