Congratulations Botswana for not just ending colonial injustice in principle, but erasing it from your law books entirely. That is real progress. Meanwhile, in Uganda, we donโt just cling to these colonial relics we keep rewriting them, repackaging hate as law. The question is: why?๐ง๐ผ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
Hello everyone!
It has been a long ride of persecution. It's not over; not yet... But we are glad to be back here. We shall forever continue to fight for the equal rights of all marginalized groups.
I know it shocks most of you but not every man's dream is marriage to a woman or having children with a woman! My dream is to get married to a man, have and raise our children with my husband. ๐๐๐
Today, I had the honor of meeting Winnie Byanyima Executive Director UNAIDS, at the closing session of the UNAIDS reference group on HIV and Human Rights.
She motivated existing members and warmly welcomed new ones, urging us to tackle the effects of far-right religious extremism and champion progressive activism for the betterment of women, LGBTQ individuals, and people living with HIV.
I am deeply committed to serving and advocating for marginalised communities to bring about positive change. @Winnie_Byanyima@UNAIDS@OneVoiceNetwor2
What would an inclusive Queer Development Policy look like? I am attending two days of a conference bringing together activists, academics, civil society organisations and development workers to think through this question. Hamburg, here I come!
Also under the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023, failure to report a gay person to police (should you happen to know one) may land you in prison for 6 months?!!! How RIDICULOUS!!!

In the quiet of night, I don my shoesโ
each pair a vessel for empathy.
They lead me down the treacherous paths
where the LGBTQ+ community treads,
their struggles etched into the very earth. @SteveKabuye5@kitakaAlex1
Shine Like a Star: A Poem for LGBTQ+ Respect and Awareness
LGBTQ+ deserve respect and love,
Not hate and violence from above.
We are beings, just like you,
Deserving of protection too.
