The photo in my profile of $RNG weekly chart is example of what we strive for. Buying hi vol breakouts of large bases - AAA set ups + trailing stops. Secondary play is to catch the AAA's I missed- PBBO - which buys on resumption of trend + trailing stops
The cross currents among stocks has not let up, even as indices point upwards. For every dozen or so that are showing strength, another dozen that continue to be markedly weak. Def not showing strength across the board. Stock pickers market maybe for a bit
@DavidCoxWG Agree. Just reviewed end of week bars for my watchlist of " leaders". 1/3 looked brutal, 1/3 looked marginal, and 1/3 looked set up for higher. Tricky indeed.....
@Canny4 So true. Worst part is the cruel mistress of a market will make you think you have it figured out MANY times along the way. I've "solved the puzzle" dozens of times in my career only to learn the puzzle changed...
@RayTL_ Started $SMPL $DKNG $OMI this week. Donโt really like any of them but I need a toe dip to check market. Hard for me to get a feel from outside
Solar stocks went from - very shallow pullbacks over 10 months to - relentless selling through all key MA's. The abruptness of the trend change is startling
Iโm all cash after entering week with 5 posns. This mornings dip took me out of $TWTR and $SONO they were my last remaining soldiers. Both closed higher, will look to re-enter at higher levels
Oh man. Seeing a lot of โthat was the bottom โ talk. Seem to recall an old adage - markets donโt bottom on Fridays - but whoโs knows. Will say this - if we undercut Fri lows likely a bunch of sellers below
I have a large watchlist of " leading " stocks that are removed when they close below their 10wk ma. I've peaked and expect many of these names to be removed. Good news is only the strongest will remain. They will be my focus going forward
I figured it out in yr 2. Finally got it in yr 5. Turned the corner in yr 8. Found the right system in yr 12. Turns out I'm still learning lessons in yr 20. There are trading savants out there, it's not me. When people say it only takes a few years to figure out trading..... ๐ค
The disappointing part about this market action is not the decline. Manage risk, obey your stops. It's what this sets up technically. Broken charts will require months of basing to reset. Dead money period ahead unless we get another V shape like last year. Possible but unlikely
I think the toughest message to convey to new traders is that short term price action reflects the emotion of the current market, not the fundamentals. Long term fundamentals, but short term its simply a voting machine. Took me years to understand
@RayTL_ Agree! Only took me 10 to figure this out. My best advice for new traders would be to play small. Learn your lessons with with small amounts of money. Consider it tuition
