The church’s mandates are two-fold, the CULTURAL Mandate to be fruitful and multiply and to subdue the earth and take dominion, and then, with the advent of Christ, to therefore GO and Disciple the NATIONS. This obviously happens with the sanctification process that leavens a the concentric circles of Individuals, families, churches, localities, counties, and ultimately nations.

Also, beauty is a gateway to truth and it is a means of grace provoking jealousy and pointing to Christ. Unfortunately, most evangelicals have an allergy to all of this and rather are convinced that the high watermark of Christianity is the conversion of the lost, never considering what comes after that conversion.

All of the folks Bayly is alluding to would agree that culture is what comes out of your fingertips when you “assume the center” when you take every thought captive to Christ (“all of Christ, for all of life”)… In other words, having a Christian philosophy of life that answers the questions, what is the nature of reality? (metaphysics), how do we know what we know? (epistemology), and therefore “how shall we then live? (Ethics).

Loser theology, doormat Christianity, and the poverty gospel are all manifestations of the same outlook - namely, Christians prove their faithfulness by their failures. Power, wealth, success, ambition, and so on, are all too dangerous for Christians to handle. It's better, safer, and godlier to get trampled underfoot for Jesus. We may be losers but at least we are good losers! The problem, of course, is that Jesus said his people getting trampled underfoot could be a sign of judgment - a sign that the salt has lost its saltiness.

STRANGER THAN FICTION, Bollywood Edition: Stick with me and read the whole thing here, because it is NUTS.

On Saturday, Ted Cruz goes on ESPN’s College Gameday and gets roundly booed.

People try to defend Cruz by noting a bunch of people in the crowd seemed foreign.

Texas statewide political candidate Bo French posts a photo of a section of the crowd at the Texas-Ohio State game showing a large mass of Indians in one section.

Everyone loses their minds and starts flinging poop at each other over mass immigration and Indian assimilation.

Three days later, news breaks that NFL all-star TE Travis Kelce was scammed out of a ton of money by an illegal immigrant and Indian scam artist Siddarth Jawahar.

Siddarth Jawahar, an illegal immigrant, reportedly attended the University of Texas for several years.

And this is the best part: Siddharth Jawahar hired a political consultant named Jeff Roe to help him get a lighter sentence. Recorded jailhouse phone calls captured Roe and Jawahar scheming about how to manipulate the judge in the case.

Jeff Roe is one of Ted Cruz’s top political consultants and ran Cruz’s presidential campaign in 2016.

Truth really is stranger than fiction.
