Research Participants Needed: We are recruiting Black @RyersonCYC undergrads, graduate students, and alumni for a research study exploring how #AntiBlackRacism shows up and is addressed within CYC curriculum at @RyersonU.

Do you need transportation to and from the March for Black Students on August 7? Sign up for your spot on a bus. We have two buses leaving from locations across the GTA. Spots are first come first serve. Masks required to board the bus. https://t.co/gQIsuEvCQh
I was reminded make self-care a priority in the work I do. To give myself the same love I pour into to others. To say no. To stop relinquishing so much of who I am, so I'm not depleted and my body ends up reacts to the stress. To rest. To refuse the capitalist notions of labour.
An important and thoughtful education centred discussion about the importance to #SayPalestine, inform yourself about what is happening, it's impacts on young people we come across. We know it's not a specific CYC, but such an impactful discussion should be heard and applied.
“We must change everything” -creating liveable queer, trans and two spirit lives without police and prisons . @BeverlyBain13 getting us started! No pride in policing and happy pride everyone .
Something for every CYCs library for the young people we work with. For our own personal learning, please take the time to read the TRC. It is crucial to understanding the lens much of our work is framed under & how important it is to dismantle that lens.

For #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay I just wanted to remind people that Black people can be Indigenous too, whether to this part of the world or other parts. Don't erase us, don't participate in anti-Black racism and don't support those who do in any way shape or form.
On #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay let's listen to the various calls to action from Indigenous communities for actual action. Stay on our elected officials to come through on needed action, amplify Indigenous voices, support with labour or money if you can and LISTEN and ACT.
It is always important to remember this framing. With no Indigenous people left to resist, governments would be free to take the land. To this day, Indigenous child apprehension is over 50% nationally and up to 100% in some provinces/territories.
Are you curious as to how @tdsb_cebsa can best serve self-identifying Black students? Parents and caregivers of Black students are invited to participate in a virtual focus group. https://t.co/8sYTwmnZJc #tdsb#tdsbcebsa
Hold space for your friends who are suffering. Be mindful of the space you take up and always listen, learn and amplify people from the affected community. Showing up is a delicate balance, but done properly, it provides much needed solidarity and support when most needed.
What can we say after two weeks of violence towards Indigenous, Muslim and 2SLGBTQ+ communities that hasn't already been said?
We call upon our allies to fight intensely against white supremacy, homophobia, colonialization in all its forms. Hold leaders accountable
As we are all being pulled in a million directions under the weight of a pandemic and the constant assault of a capitalist society. We ask you to stay committed to the work of refusing the logics of white supremacy and building a different way of living together with care.
As we begin Indigenous History Month, it is a critical time to remember that the past is not past. “Canada” continues to commit genocide, the Catholic Church has not adequately apologized for the atrocities committed + we continue to live under the terror of settler-colonialism.
How can a renewed attention to the interconnectedness of our needs reenergize us to work toward our collective liberation? How can it motivate us to unsettle the discourses of disbelief when new/different/more evidence of what we already know comes to light?
Lots of white tears in my mentions. Lots of sad people feeling bad about what happened. I'm glad you're sorry and ashamed. You should be. These schools along with the entire structure of churches and government and policing and military combine to create a particular world.
