@GaryShapiro, President & CEO of Consumer Technology Association (CTA), recently testified before the U.S. Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce, and dropped some mind-blowing insights about the economic benefits of the self-driving vehicle industry!

📈 Let's talk about those numbers; according to a study by Securing America's Future Energy, #SelfDrivingVehicles have the potential to generate a staggering $796 billion for the U.S. economy by 2050! Yes, you read that right. This market could also create $300 to $400 billion in global revenues within the next twelve years. Shapiro added that self-driving vehicles "... will drive demand for cutting-edge software and hardware development, thereby fostering innovation and driving growth in other technology-related industries."

Imagine hopping into your self-driving car, knowing that this revolutionary technology is not just convenient, but a major boost for the economy. It's no surprise then that according to #CTA research, two-thirds of U.S. adults are seriously considering replacing their conventional cars with these autonomous marvels. 🤩

The U.S. is already leading the way with over 80 companies testing self-driving vehicles across at least 30 states. But competition is fierce, with China emerging as a formidable player, investing heavily in self-driving tech. Meanwhile, Japan opened roads to Level 4 self-driving vehicles in 2023. The race is on, and the U.S. needs to maintain its edge! 🌎🏁

According to Shapiro, legislative action now can secure U.S. technological leadership and create a safer, more inclusive transportation system. As emphasized in his testimony, "We must set national goals and ensure the development and deployment of self-driving vehicles aligned with our broader national interests of creating jobs, boosting economic growth, and strengthening America's position in the global market." 🇺🇸🔝
