@psychunseen The article didn't mention cariprazine, which acts on the D3 receptor, and has helped me a lot. That drug breaks the Serotonin/D2 mold and FDA approved already.
@KindredK8 @DrMcFillin If you try to use one word to describe what APs do you will always fail because they all do different things and bind to different receptors with varying affinities.
@RazvenHK Sounds like something a bad CIA agent who was planning to move to HK would say publicly. "Who what me interested in politics? I would never..."
@tylerblack32 The most absurd part of this story is that Moncrieff et al published a meta analysis of other studies narrow findings on SSRIs efficacy in 1 condition, then go claiming everywhere that chemical imbalance is a myth.
This is not only idiotic but dangerously so. No one wants to give their employer's computer enough info to determine whether or not they might be suicidal. Andrew should be asking himself what is wrong with him that he thinks this is a worthwhile effort.
You may jest but this is actually a serious problem for society. People buying into bs like that makes it easier for extremists to dismiss actual science.
If psychiatrists weren't so "Rah rah clozapine and ECT" perhaps that would help their case. As it stands I find it hard to defend the profession as a whole.
This tweet got me thinking, can we please do away with the worship of everything? The human need to find an object of worship whether that be Jesus Marx Hitler Trump has caused the world so much harm. No human should be beyond criticism.
β¦This is no different than being a Foucault scholar applying for tenure in a department where everybody worships the ground he walked on. Academia has never been a meritocratic ideological free-for-all at any point in its history. This is a myth being wielded against inclusion.
