I was at a private mastermind in Dubai last month and met this guy who completely changed how I think about pricing.
32 years old, running a B2B SaaS company doing $18M ARR.
Here's the wild part...
He told me he tripled his revenue in 8 months without adding a single new feature to his product.
All he did was change his pricing page.
Most SaaS founders are terrified of charging what they're actually worth because they think they need to be "competitive"
This guy did the opposite.
He looked at his closest competitor charging $99/month and decided to charge $497/month for basically the same thing
Everyone told him he was insane. His co-founder almost quit over it.
But here's what happened:
His conversion rate dropped from 8% to 2%...
But his revenue per customer went up 5x
The math is stupid simple but most people miss it.
He went from 80 customers paying $99 = $7,920/month
To 20 customers paying $497 = $9,940/month
With 75% fewer support tickets and way less churn.
The customers paying $497 actually valued the product. They implemented it properly, they stuck around longer, they referred other high-ticket clients.
The $99 customers were tire kickers who'd cancel after two months anyway.
He told me something I'll never forget:
"Cheap customers cost more than they pay. Expensive customers pay more than they cost."
Most founders are racing to the bottom trying to undercut competition...
Meanwhile the smart ones are charging 3-5x more and attracting clients who actually have budgets and problems worth solving.
Your pricing doesn't just filter customers.
It determines the entire quality of your business.
Stop competing on price and start competing on perceived value.
The businesses winning right now aren't the cheapest ones...
They're the ones bold enough to charge what they're actually worth.
