Scenario.

Ghana invests around $150 million every year into the economy of Niger by importing onions from that country.

Is it not possible, for instance that the Agric Ministry researches and picks 3 or 4 regions, support farmers there where the primary focus of production will be onion, enough to meet our consumption or 90% of our demand. Thus we stop investing in Niger’s economy for something we can equally and easily produce with support.

Imagine investing $100 million in 3 regions in Ghana every year, in our own people in the value chain because that’s where all or most of the onion we consume comes from?
