@TeamThirstTrap open numbers after 39:
40
46 (as of today)
48 (no)
52
53
so really, not many "choice" numbers to pick from. no knock against senger, but i'm surprised he was able to take 6 when he gave up 30 for weaver.
@Ben_Yoel we have landed on the stupidest outcome, which is that he's gonna have something different tomorrow
either have guardrails up to make sure you don't do a kelvin torve or just let him keep it
@Metsomania_Pod Willie Mays' number being retired is in honor of his contribution to National League baseball in New York and an honoring of Joan Payson's promise. Can't compare that.
@Metsomania_Pod Carter still didn't have the stats as a Met to justify retiring his number, IMO. You can be a club icon without having your number retired. Mookie Wilson is a Mets icon, too, and you don't see people stumping for #1 to be retired for him.
@ryankelly@Ben_Yoel i have been saying for many years that 8 should be in rotation so i have no issue with it but boy it is gonna spark some conversation
@Ben_Yoel i'm sitting on this one big time, would be a major development. i personally have been beating the drum of "put it in rotation" but i know there's gonna be a lot of rabbles roused if it's accurate
