FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL!
“The more concerned we become over the things we can't control, the less we will do with the things we can control.” – John Wooden

The girls are bringing gold home from Victoria at the 2023 National Foot Locker U14 Club Championships - where they were UNDEFEATED ! A huge feat, and a HUGE congratulations to the team! 🥇🔥
Your effectiveness as a coach won’t be based on how much you know or what level you played at. It will be a reflection of how well you’ve taught, how effectively you’ve motivated, and how much you care for individuals.

Players think…
“I’m letting the team down because I turned the ball over, I’m letting the team down because I missed a shot…
No, you’re letting the team down when it parlays into 4-5 possessions after that.”
4 weeks of D-League Done and Dusted
240 athletes given the opportunity to compete and learn the @BasketballNSW Style of Play.
A massive thank you to all the Referees and Volunteer coaches. Without you these opportunities a NON-EXISTENT
Head coaches using a voluminous Off. playbook and D schemes are forgetting, some players have remembering issues. Connective teachers keep game concepts 1) simple 2) instinctive 3) realistic. Less is better!

#WeAreBasketball
IMHO there is a zone epidemic in junior basketball in Australia. Every team is playing it, if not the majority of the game, all game… as a coach I feel the responsibility to teach my kids to play 1on1 def and help rotations. Development is more important than winning to me!
