@running_geek I am presenting on running performance benefits with stretch in footwear uppers and how to understand trail running performance through a #bigdata approach. We look forward to seeing you in Salzburg!
As part of the BOA Performance Fit Lab, I am excited that both @running_geek and I will be presenting at @isbs_conference. Kate will be presenting at 9am on Wed and I will be presenting at 9am on Fri. Stop by if you are interested in understand how fit affects performance
🚨NEW PUBLICATION ALERT🚨
“Greater Foot and Footwear Mechanical Work Associated with Less Ankle Joint Work During Running”

Please spread the word! We have an open position for a research coordinator/lab tech to perform #biomechanics and clinical gait analysis. Help with ongoing projects in prosthetics, footwear, and muscle mechanics. Apply by Dec 10.

Excited to co-organize this conference w/ @BYUIain and Raoul Resier. This is a great opportunity for students to present and network with colleagues in the Rocky Mtn region. Also, a great weekend getaway with family to visit the Rocky Mtn National Parks. Please join us!
I'm looking for a postdoc to join our group. The project focuses on bone remodeling and microdamage in the fatigue fracture process. Strong interests and expertise in experimental mechanics in preclinical models is an asset. Working on formal posting but reach out if interested!
The abstracts are here! Check out all of the amazing work being presented at #FBS2023 in Osaka at the link below. We are so excited to see you there!

ISB-JSB 2023 attendees, please consider joining this session as @EricHonert and I will share our excitement for the world of foot-ankle biomechanics. DM me if you have specific questions about the content/structure of this workshop.
Just one more week to submit to Special Topics in Frontiers "Debates in Biomechanics and Motor Control"
Submission due 5/31 (extended deadline)

@KarlZelik@KotaZTakahashi@ISBiomechanics Options here:
Foot power? sounds like a purely segmental power from the 70s
VU power: get my alma mater in there (very unorthodox power?)
CFS power: combined foot source power
CW power: can of worm power because we just don't know the best phrase yet
#biomechanics researchers going to @ISBiomechanics: @KotaZTakahashi & I are hosting a workshop on Distal Rearfoot power. The goal is to get past the pesky "valley of despair" & apply this technique in your research. Early bird registration is extended to May 21! See you there!
This was a fun collaboration across so many researchers: @edwardswb@EmilyMatijevich@khassetarash @MauriceMohr5 @Subramanium_A and others in the HPL @UCalgary. I am excited to see how the next 20 yrs of research looks with such marked advancements in the past 20 yrs
🚨 New Article Alert! 🚨
Let’s pause and take a look at the present state of biomechanics in our slice of the scientific world. Check out this review from @BennoNigg and let us know what you think. #footwearscience

@KarlZelik @BreccaGaffney What type of covariates are you looking to account for?
Here is an article that I wrote with Todd Pataky on examining the influence of gait event timing on SPM

Good thread for anyone transitioning from academia to industry!
My advice for people making this transition is to translate code they have written in MATLAB to python so you can compare outputs. This gives you a start on those off-the-cuff commands you code with all the time!
I loved this study because we were able to recruit a wide range of athletes (Age: 26-56), I was able to apply my knowledge from my time with @KarlZelik and @BennoNigg, and I am able to publish scientific findings from my time in the #footwear industry (5/5)
‼️New Publication Alert‼️
I am thrilled to share our recent study on #trailrunning#biomechanics with @running_geek and @Dfeeney31. We saw that a BOA wrap upper had better qualitative & quantitative fit than laces while running on trail. https://t.co/mqqHWZfzkE
(1/n)
We instructed athletes to run at the same speed; however they also ran slightly faster in the BOA with no change in subjective exertion nor heart rate. (4/n)
