Thank you so much! I truly appreciate that.
Honestly, the idea for Yellow Feather grew out of two lifelong passions of mine: history and genealogy. Ever since I was a boy growing up in Massachusetts, I was fascinated by early New England history, especially the stories surrounding King Philip’s War. Something was haunting and powerful about it that stayed with me—the burned towns, the collapsing alliances, the fear, the wilderness, and the tragedy on all sides. But as I got older, I began to realize that much of the story we are commonly taught is incomplete and often told from only one perspective.
At the same time, I also learned through my own family research that several of my ancestors had actually fought during King Philip’s War. That discovery made the conflict feel deeply personal to me. Suddenly, these weren’t just names in a history book anymore. These were real people connected to my own family story, living through one of the most devastating wars in early American history. That realization pushed me deeper into researching the conflict, the people involved, and especially the Native leaders whose voices and experiences are often minimized or overlooked in traditional narratives.
Over time, I became especially drawn to Ousamequin (Massasoit), Wamsutta, and Metacomet—not as distant historical figures, but as human beings navigating impossible choices during a time of cultural collision, political pressure, betrayal, diplomacy, and survival. I wanted to tell a story that felt immersive, historically grounded, and emotionally honest while also exploring the deeper themes of memory, identity, land, family, and the consequences of colonization.
In many ways, Yellow Feather became the novel I always wished existed when I first fell in love with this period of history.

Blending Native American history, colonial New England, genealogy, and epic historical fiction, Yellow Feather brings the forgotten world of 17th-century America vividly to life in a saga of memory, survival, and resistance that the land itself refuses to forget.

Discover the power of GENETIC TRIANGULATION in uncovering your ancestral roots. Genetic triangulation is a method used in genetic genealogy to verify the relationships between individuals by comparing their DNA results. This technique is essential for genealogists and family historians who want to break through brick walls in their research.

The Puritans didn’t see America as a land of opportunity.
They saw it as Satan’s territory. In their eyes, the forests of New England were filled with spiritual danger, demonic temptation, and “wild beasts and wild men.”
Their fear of the wilderness shaped everything from colonial expansion to King Philip’s War and even the Salem Witch Trials.
This is the dark story of how your Puritan ancestors viewed America—and how that fear helped shape a nation.

Something unexpected happened this week, and I'm still processing it.
I discovered that two of my videos have been featured on https://t.co/jUsJyEQKDx—the official 350th Anniversary of King Philip's War website—alongside PBS documentaries, academic historians, tribal representatives, and primary source presentations from the Cambridge Public Library.
I didn't submit anything. They found the work.
For those who don't know, King Philip's War (1675–1676) was the deadliest conflict in American history per capita—more destructive relative to population than the Civil War or the Revolution—and it remains one of the least-taught events in American history. The communities, historians, and Indigenous organizations behind https://t.co/jUsJyEQKDx are working to change that. The fact that they considered my videos worthy of sitting alongside that work means more to me than I can easily put into words.
This is exactly why I make this content. Not for an algorithm. Not for numbers. For the people and the stories that colonial history tried to erase—and for everyone who carries those roots without knowing it yet.
If you've been watching, sharing, or just quietly following along—thank you. You're part of why this is happening.
There's a lot more coming. The records have more to say.
