🤍❤️ The Constitution of 3 May 1791 is a symbol of our identity, our struggle for democracy and independence.
Adopted 234 years ago, the Government Act gave hope for a better future and to this day remains a source of pride for Poles.
Let us work together to make 🇵🇱 stronger!
Congratulations to our Polish friends as we jointly celebrate #May3Constitution Day! 🇱🇹🇵🇱 Our brotherhood and strategic partnership are rooted in the Constitution’s spirit, and its values guide our steadfast support for Ukraine today. Serdeczne gratulacje!
Thirty-five years ago, news of Lithuania's restored Independence spread around the world. Today and every day, the world learns more about our achievements – these are the results of enormous courage and stubbornness, of which we can and should be proud.
Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine. History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for.
Today’s American vote at the United Nations today— siding with tyrants and against democracies— is one of the most shocking foreign policy events of my lifetime. To the free world, I apologize.
Ukraine is not, as the Russian ambassador said, a "project."
Its statehood is older than Muscovy’s.
It has been a member of @UN longer than Russia.
It has a language, an identity and its own aspirations.
Why do all decent people stand by Ukraine today? Why do free nations today pay a tribute to the heroes and victims of this inhuman war? Because this is a war in defense of us all: Ukraine, Poland, Europe and our values. Let no-one try to question the very sense of this fight.
Today, we celebrate the birth of modern Lithuania.
On 16 February 1918, Lithuania proclaimed the Act of Independence, restoring statehood that dates back to 1253. This act continues to define Lithuania – a free, democratic, united nation. 🇱🇹
@pkafka Or why not ask or give Co-CEO’s Tom Staggs and Kevin Mayer a chance. They made it work at Candle Media and were both once considered for the top post at Disney.
@pkafka For better or worse, Disney is no stranger to that model with Eisner/Wells, both reported to the board despite Eisner taking the Chair/CEO title and Wells taking the President and COO title. Don Tatum and Card Walker also served as Chair/CEO and President, respectively.
🇵🇱 Today we are celebrating the 106th anniversary of regaining Poland's independence. Today we are on the map, but it would not be possible without the huge sacrifice of many generations of Poles who believed that one day it would be possible to create again independent homeland.
@BoardwalkTimes For better or worse, Disney has traditionally had duo (or trio) leadership: Walt/Roy, Roy/Don/Card, Eisner/Well (both reported to the board), a duo leadership, one from Parks/Experiences and the other from Movies/Content may, just work… may.
"Appeasement of dictators does not work. But don’t believe me? Ask your neighbors or work colleagues with family roots in Poland, Ukraine or Lithuania. These Americans understand the lessons of history better than most." THREAD
@ScottGustin Back in the day they would have named him Vice Chairman during the transition, like they did with Raymond Watson before he stepped up to Chair. Seems that board title is pretty much only used in the nonprofit world these days.
BREAKING: Disney has tapped James Gorman to replace Mark Parker as the company’s next chairman. The company also plans to name CEO Bob Iger's successor in 2026.
