FOR: Constitutional democracy, the rule of law, universal human rights, economic opportunity, environmental protection, a strong America, tolerance & diversity, respectful dialogue.
AGAINST: Trump, the woke left, cancel culture, conspiracy theories, all forms of extremism.
How we're working for #AmericanRenewal:
- Encouraging Republicans to move beyond #Trump.
- Opposing #extremism of both political parties.
- Promoting a positive vision based on the lessons of history, common sense, constitutional democracy & civic virtue.

Many Christians have doubts about whether the #resurrection could *really* have happened. But the latest advancements in science & tech should open our minds to the supernatural.
In this article, we present a 21st century case for the miracle of #Easter.

@Feedtherobot @yayfreire @mmurraypolitics I'm in favor of more funding for both. Law enforcement is very important. Low-cost housing and mental health care is also very important. Spend whatever it takes to keep people safe and to improve people's lives and communities. America has the money.
@CoIostomizer@mmurraypolitics "Defund the police" is a culture war hobby horse, not a serious policy idea. Cutting police funding and taking cops off the beat is not going to help solve the problems in impoverished communities with lots of drugs and crime. It will only cause more people to die.
@CrimsonEsquire@mmurraypolitics Having better funded, better qualified, better screened, better trained police will prevent/reduce the very abuses of authority you're mentioning.
@LeftScientist @yayfreire @mmurraypolitics I think they'll be able to hire better people, train them better, and control dangerous situations better because they'll have more good, well-trained people handling things.
Less knees on necks, accidental guns instead of tasers, and barely qualified cops doing stupid things.
So let me get this straight... McCarthy is okay with Trump's #BigLie about election fraud, which he repeats over and over again and which caused a deadly riot at the Capitol... But he's *not* okay with #MadisonCawthorn's lie about orgies and coke parties.

@yoclockface@mmurraypolitics Populism means different things to different people. The MAGA version of populism is nasty & shallow. But the idea of a grassroots politics that rejects the dominance of corporate & cultural elites can be a good thing, IMO. S/W have lost some of their credibility on that, though.
@yayfreire @mmurraypolitics Wow, that's pretty disturbing, but I can't say that I'm surprised.
I'd like to see robust funding for both schools and police, so they can both do their job much better than they are now. I guess that puts me in the Biden camp, but I used to think of myself as a progressive.
@HeathMayo@devinhardin6 Yes, but the law shouldn't be applied selectively. If the DOJ investigates Hunter Biden, then they must also investigate Trump for his *far worse* offenses of trying to overthrow the government. Otherwise "no man is above the law" is a sick joke.
If #MerrickGarland opens an investigation on Hunter Biden, for whatever mickey mouse corruption, but not on Donald Trump, for trying to overthrow the government when he lost the election, then Garland should resign in disgrace or be impeached.
It is reported an investigation of Hunter Biden is underway. Assume it is a justifiable investigation of his alleged activities. If Hunter is being investigated “Why the hell is ____ not also being investigated?” The “blank”’ could be filled with SO many names from the GOP ranks!
@mmurraypolitics Fascinating to see how Sanders/Warren voters went off the deep end on the police issue. Originally, people liked those candidates because of their economic populism, not so much because of culture war issues.
#JDVance needs to choose better friends. He threw himself under the bus by embracing the kind of people who speak at white supremacist rallies.
"Hillbilly Elegy" was a good book, but now this guy is playing into all the worst stereotypes about #rednecks.
At the OH Senate debate tonight, JD Vance is asked if he will condemn Marge Greene speaking at a Nazi rally: “She is my friend, and she did nothing wrong .. and I’m absolutely not going to throw her under the bus, or anybody else who is a friend of mine.”
@jodycourtney I think a lot of people are waiting for a prominent person to get the ball rolling. But it may happen from the grassroots even if a politician doesn't lead the way. Based on the conversations I have with various friends & family offline, there's a huge appetite and openness to it
The House Republican leader is supporting Madison Cawthorn and opposing Liz Cheney for re-election. Think about the respective quality of those two members, then think about what this says about today's Republican Party.
