I'm pretty sure I just watched Michigan score on literally every single possession from the 15:00 minute mark to 1:13 left in the game. Not an exaggeration.
Have seen this talked about in a few places so went back and looked. I won’t stop anyone from complaining about free throws (everyone does when there is a disparity in FT attempts), but they got this specific call right.
I'm mostly just trying to understand KPI better. It won't have much of an impact by the end of the season, but by my math, an extra .12 KPI score would be enough to move ISU from 20th to 17th right now in KPI.
@T3Bracketology@JBRBracketology I was browsing the KPI metrics and found this interesting. Can someone help me figure out why there is such a difference in KPI score for the exact same result vs. essentially the exact same quality of team?
The chances of a rebound and putback off of a missed free throw are higher than making a 55-footer so I don’t mind not fouling. If they were to do it over again I’m guessing they would either miss the 2nd FT or force Love to his left hand so he can’t run cleanly into his shot.
Without this play, and with all other results remaining the same, Baylor would be facing Arizona State for the conference championship. Thank you Colorado.
The irony of this is that we have already seen what happened when the current 4th-highest-ranked Big Ten team (Michigan) went up against an elite team (Texas).
