The Hartford Police Department is proud to congratulate Officer Nico Fierravanti and K9 Cody on their graduation from the Connecticut State Police K9 Academy.
Officer Fierravanti and K9 Cody successfully completed the rigorous 16-week Patrol K9 training program, graduating as part of the 262nd Patrol K9 Training Class. The team also earned certification through the New England State Police Administrators Conference (NESPAC).
Throughout the academy, Officer Fierravanti and K9 Cody trained extensively in areas including tracking, evidence recovery, suspect apprehension, obedience, agility, and handler protection, preparing them to assist officers and serve the Hartford community in a variety of critical incidents.
Officer Fierravanti, a graduate of Hartford Police Academy Class 2021-1, has served the department in several assignments throughout his career, including Patrol and the Street Crimes Unit. Following graduation from the K9 Academy, Officer Fierravanti and K9 Cody will return to the Patrol Division, where they will support patrol operations and provide specialized K9 assistance when needed.
The Hartford Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the Connecticut State Police K9 Unit and academy staff for their dedication to training and preparing K9 teams from agencies across Connecticut. Their commitment to excellence helps ensure these teams are ready to serve and protect their communities from day one.

Mark W. Sheldon, Sr., President of the Sons of the American Revolution – Connecticut Line, presents West Hartford Town Clerk Leon S. Davidoff with a special 250th Anniversary print of the Declaration of Independence. Town Clerks from all 169 towns received the print.
The Sons of the American Revolution organization is participating in the reading of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia over the July 4th holiday period. He participates in re-enactments celebrating the history of the American Revolution.
The Town of West Hartford’s copy has been framed and is proudly on display in the Town Clerk’s office, Room 313.
