I couldn’t let America celebrate its 250th birthday without getting in on its favorite pastime! Nothing screams summer in Kansas like time spent at the ballpark. Good luck to all the teams wrapping up baseball season or headed into the post season tournaments!
We had a great crew in Lenexa this morning. Unfortunately, the weather canceled the parade, but we have plenty of candy, so we will be out in force later today!
I've spent my career as a pharmacist and as Insurance Commissioner fighting to make health care more affordable for Kansas families. As Governor, that fight continues.
As Big Tech makes its way into Kansas, we have to protect our land, our water, and our way of life. Joe and I won't let outside interests run roughshod over our communities.
A full day in Smith Center for my running mate Joe Newland. Time in the fields with our farmers and ranchers, a tour of Applequist Manufacturing, a stop at Overmiller Red Angus, and burgers and conversation with neighbors at Jiffy Burger. This is the Kansas we are fighting for.
Strong rural hospitals keep strong rural communities. This week Joe Newland toured Morris County Hospital and visited with the administrators and staff working to keep quality care close to home in Council Grove.
This session, I wrote legislation to stop pharmacy middlemen known as PBMs from driving up the costs of prescriptions for Kansans and driving local pharmacies out of business. I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet the many pharmacists who helped make the legislation a reality.
Joe Newland knows Farm Bureau inside and out. As the former president of the @KSFarmBureau, he has spent years standing up for Kansas agriculture, so it was only fitting that he stopped in at the local Farm Bureau office in Council Grove.

Did you really think I would let the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month go by without a post? Like in most speeches I give, I'll reiterate the importance of getting your mammogram. A routine mammogram saved my life and it could save yours too! Get it scheduled today!
Growing up in the heart of Kansas taught me the values of faith, family, and hard work. Those lessons have guided me as a pharmacist, an elected leader, and now as a candidate for Governor. I’ll never forget where I came from, or who I’m fighting for.
I have spent the past week representing Kansas at the National Association of Insurance Commissioner's conference. It was even more special that I got to show my grandkids what I do!
Political violence of any kind is unacceptable. I am so glad that no one was hurt and hope that law enforcement can swiftly find those responsible.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of taking my grandkids with me to the poll to advance vote. It was a great opportunity to teach them about how we elect our leaders. I hope you'll exercise your right to vote and participate in our local elections today!!!
