A8: Back of house tours, particularly to the waste dock and kitchens has been a powerful way for stakeholders across the board to better understand the opportunities and challenges throughout venue operations #MeetGreenChat
A6: Loved seeing @IMEX_Group using QR codes to share sustainability and event equity information onsite. Here is an example of their code of conduct and inclusive language guide easily accessible across the event #MeetGreenChat
After an action-packed #IMEX22 one of our favorite activities is working to donate recovered exhibit hall materials. Very appreciative of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center recycling team for all their help matching these items with community partners.
After a great time at #IMEX22 please consider recycling your badge on your way home. We will be hand-removing all personal identifiers Friday morning and excited to pilot a brand new manufacturer take back program with PC Name-tag.
A8: I continue to be inspired to see where innovations in sustainable menu planning can go. I believe there is still quite a bit of room for evolution and experimentation in our industry on this topic. #MeetGreenChat
A6: We are having these conversations more and more. For example one of our web-based resources created for a client, included meeting with their accessibility team to make sure everyone was designing accessibility into the digital tool and user experience. #MeetGreenChat
5b: From my vantage point sustainable menus are almost always appreciated and well received. Attendees at MeetGreen conferences often like to see thought and innovation in their menus and there continues to be a push to experiment and try new things #MeetGreenChat
A5: For me it was in Kansas City. Some of the produce items on the menu were grown with Missouri Organic compost which was routed from the Convention Center. This was one of the most "circular" scenarios of any menus I had seen #MeetGreenChat
Hello! Eric Wallinger, Director of Sustainability joining in : )) A4: one of my favorite innovations in plant based menus was making smoothies from imperfect produce at #IMEXAmerica 2021. Also helped cut down on food waste too! #MeetGreenChat
Enjoying some of the low carbon items from the #IMEX22 Inspiration Hub food court menu. Many plant-based foods save significant emissions upstream via land use and productionโฆand taste great too! ๐
#IMEX22 is underway! Excited to see so many low #carbon build materials paired with a great end-use plan. Nearly all Inspiration Hub construction & furniture elements will be either returned to rental inventory or saved for #reuse in future event cycles!
A11: It really did! Envisioning a world (and events) where sustainability and inclusivity are the defaults, was very powerful and inspiring! #MeetGreenChat
A8: One idea could be to offer a @fillitforward bar code to anyone that brings their own bottle a great way to gamify, raise awareness, and aggregate attendee impacts : )) #MeetGreenChat
A7: A plant-based menu by default would substantially lower our event's "foodprint". Here is one study from 2019 could loosely support our assumptions on this front : )) #MeetGreenChat
