There isn’t a single Classical Liberal who can explain why public nudity should constitute a criminal offense by only appealing to individual liberty or the harm principle.

If the answer is “most people dislike nudity” liberalism collapses into pure democratic majoritarianism and those two things are not the same thing.

If it’s “nudity is objectively indecent” then you’re invoking a moral standard about right and wrong that lies outside the liberal commitment to voluntary consent.

If it’s “children shouldn’t see it” then the Classical Liberal has to explain why children shouldn’t see it but adults can, which necessarily means that voluntary consent is a contingent rather than necessary principle for governing society.

If it’s because doing so it a violation of “good manners” and therefore “offences against decency and others” which is almost verbatim to what John Stuart Mill argued, then the Classical Liberal has to explain what the hell “good manners” and “decency” are and how they’re any different from the Postliberal conception of the common good.

Any answer you give either leaves Liberalism behind or it grants people a license to destroy civilization in the name of defending Progressive degeneracy.

Either way, Liberalism dies in the end.
