@Laava_S@DataVizSociety One of those things about streaming data: it's never the same from one day to the next. You usually have a good idea of what's likely to be in there, but you need to be ready for anything. :)
@Laava_S@DataVizSociety Hi @Laava_S: I design data vis for our data products. We never know what the exact data will look like, so I use Illustrator to sketch out chart options and think through edge cases, and to support our UX prototypes. It's my primary tool for DV at work.
@JotaSolano I don't, but it's because I choose not to, and not because I shouldn't or don't think I deserve it. Seriously, by those rules, what percentage of doctorates are considered "valid" enough to use their title?
I have a new article out with Nightingale, journal of the Data Visualization Society, all about how audience affects your chart design choices:

3 days of smart people figuring out how to put patients first in clinical trials: in terms of diversity, safety, treatment efficacy, longitudinal tracking, earlier detection, and lowering the burden (and increasing benefits) of participation. #MedidataNEXT
Exciting conversation about combining real world evidence with clinical trials data in this morning's #MedidataNEXT conference with Sastry Chilukuri from AcornAI and Amy Abernathy from the FDA.
Super helpful talk about building design systems!

Great talk from @mleeblick on synthesizing and aggregating design research. Especially appreciate the distinction between "interesting pattern" and (actionable) "insight." #UXPABos2020

@loususi I didn't include a "none", but I did include the basic charts in the first part of the survey (Twitter only allows 4 poll options total, so I had to hack it). Noted for future surveys, though. :)
@jessikawelch A table is definitely easiest in terms of reading quantitative values, but a chart can often facilitate comparison. I find a combination of chart and table is usually most effective.
@stlauria Not yet! Working on it; about halfway through the first draft. I draft the early content on my blog, and have also started publishing with the Data Vis Society's publication on Medium. Would love to know what you'd like to see. :)
