OK, as I spend the night in JFK airport, let me get something off my chest: stranded in New York for 3 nights and @AmericanAir will not provide a hotel voucher, so I'm over 700 dollars out of pocket.
Why not? Because they're coding crew and maintenance issues as "weather-related." I just found out a guy headed for Argentina got a hotel voucher because his flight cancellation was coded as "crew-related."
My flight to Madrid was cancelled due to the captain not showing up and it was coded "weather-related" - so dozens of passengers were left to fend for themselves. Had this crew issue been coded as.. yes, you guessed, as a crew issue, vouchers would have been issued.
Not acceptable, American.
@SweeneyABC I barelyyyyyy got onto a plane out of Chicago on AA last night after being stranded for 2 days, and there were about 20 deadhead crew on there trying to get to Dallas because they were also stranded!

For thousands of years, babies slept with their mothers. When they cried, they were attended to. Then two men came along: Dr. Holt and John B. Watson. They said babies should be trained. That babies had to fit the assembly line schedules of their parents. "Newborns must cry to expand their lungs," they claimed. "Simply let them cry it out." And that's how the "cry it out" sleep training method was born. Watson treated babies like experiments. "Never hug or kiss your child," he wrote. "Shake hands with them in the morning." After all, mothers needed rest, to attend to their husbands and households. Watson had four children. Three attempted suicide. One succeeded. And we still follow it today. Because once you convince a mother to ignore her baby's cries, you've broken something primal.
