@Meyer_HM I see it as not being an opinion columnist. The premise of the story is that the president has only fired women, while their male colleagues survive scandal and questions of competence, with evidence. I’ve done journalism for decades, too. Thanks for reading.
NEW: President Trump directly told Russ Vought to find the funds to finance the ads glorifying him. The agency’s general counsel and WH counsel both signed off on the move as legal. The president and WH chief of staff spoke to the DHS secretary. https://t.co/U4zWDOqJbx
It took 16 months to get Evan Gershkovich out of a Russian prison. It took many more months to get the Russian prison out of Evan Gershkovich. Now for the first time since the swap that freed him, he is talking about his ordeal -- and that of the Russians. https://t.co/MkuSMdVvY4
Nikole Hannah-Jones's essay about the school she chose for her daughter launched conversations everywhere. Chana Joffe-Walt has been talking with Nikole over the last few months as she's prepared that essay. She also talked at length with Nikole's daughter. Hear their conversations in our new episode, out tonight.
Trump made his first remarks without the TV pool and it is impossible to hear him through the White House feed. He is doing an unveiling of the new helipad just before Xi’s visit.
Nothing but static for 9 minutes and Trump is wheels up.
This is an extraordinary escalation. Even amid the White House's lawsuits & threats, we've rarely seen this kind of collection action by archrival news outlets.
Politico White House reporting from the last month. Much more to come. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

The world knows a great deal about this president because of Maggie’s reporting, which she does at the expense of being singled out for attacks like these. Those attacks don’t stop her. I haven’t seen anything that can. She’s beautiful inside and out (and so is a free press).
No need to drag her children into this, but they’ll grow up knowing her job was to ask the most powerful person in the world questions, knowing full well she’d be attacked by the president and the machinery surrounding him.
With huge hat-tip to WaPo for a massive scoop, and matching some of their reporting, @EricSchmittNYT and me on the Trump admin ruse to fly him out of Turkey with AF1 and the reporters on board as unwitting decoys https://t.co/w7M2pJJMoY
