Did you know that since 2020, Erie County has created about 397,100 pounds of compost preventing about 235 metric tons of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere! For tips on how you can compost at home, visit: https://t.co/ZPtmAmUMB1
Erie County's compost program has an electric truck to collect food waste from the Correctional Facility, Holding Center, and Rath Building resulting in roughly 35 metric tons of greenhouse gas emission savings in 2025!
Erie County, in partnership with the Western NY Stormwater Coalition, is once again offering rain barrels and compost bins to encourage households to reduce their environmental footprint through water conservation and reducing fertilizer use.
