I think as nigerians we have a lot of unaddressed trauma so unaddressed that it has then become culture...that even addressing them look antithetical.

I remember som1 who moved to UK telling me when he went to the therapist and recounted his story, the therapist started to cry.

is such a bad title & job to signup for!

> you don’t own anything
> founders lead, you’re forced to follow
> compensation is peanuts compared to developers
> ownership is a myth, don’t fall for it
> % stock doesn’t equate to anything or $0
> used as a punching bag to design on the calls, during meetings, at night and even while sleeping
> you’re always the minority
> your opinions are not cared for
> devs run the show
> 100% ownership and dedication for 0% of everything
> rarely gets carried over when acquired, again devs are “important”

How do I know all this? I have been a founding designer and it never turns into anything tangible that I can walk off thinking It changed my life.

Designers are taught or maybe forced to see things in a “artistic view” where they shouldn’t look at monetary value, but skill enhancement but founders and developers and everyone around them can exit with huge payouts!
