“What I want for this Mother’s Day is what every mother wants: for kids to come home safe and for families not to be ripped apart by gun violence. We are demanding our lawmakers honor mothers this Mother’s Day by protecting our children with action.” https://t.co/U8EjID0jS0
@RickRollin2@WinsomeSears My research shows $12.6k per student. SC spends $11.5k and their graduation rate is 7% below ours. Average per capita cost in the US is $13.1k (as of 6/15/22). We can’t afford or any of that federal/state money to go to private schools via “vouchers”

This is disingenuous. Even if it’s real, it’s unclear if a teacher wrote this or if it was a question from the College Board exam, in which case even private/charter schools would be taking the same test, b/c thats how AP classes work.
Vouchers are a subsidy for the rich.🧵
Why should parents pay for a product when they don’t know its contents? That’s what we’re asking parents to do when it comes to their children’s education. Tests like these create division, low morale, fights in our schools. This is why parents are demanding school choice now!
@m6laya The fact that VBCPS can offer bus transportation to alternative schools and academies all across the city is impressive. No other school division in the region is able to do it, including private/charter schools. I’m sorry you’re dissatisfied with the free transportation system.
(For those who voted for her and don’t get the reference: The Emperor Has No Clothes is a parable about critical thinking. A Venn Diagram is a visual comparison model to demonstrate commonality between data sets.)
And shame on you for spreading misinformation. The Venn diagram of people who believe charter schools will save education and people who think the emperor is wearing clothes is a perfect circle.
Anyone who speaks about gun violence without tears and/or outrage is numb to it. We mustn’t let that happen. This reaction is NORMAL, and I wish politicians understood. I wish they agreed that we can change. Follow @MomsDemand to start changing things.
@tvrivers That breaks my heart. I was mistaken for a boy several times when I had long hair (it was the 90s so all the boys in VB had long hair) and it was unsettling as a 16y/o. I hate that she feels like she’s the one who needs to change.
. @SheriffMina: “In a world where my deputies’ heads are on a pivot, constantly looking out for active shooters, doing all they can to protect this community from violence, permitless carry would make their jobs exponentially harder.”
