@TheBlondeRN We never had any periop rotations when I was in school but did float down to the OR one day to see a surgery which was cool. I work in IR now and wish I had gotten to rotate through there in school!
@PostOpPrincess My old med surg floor had to recover all of our post procedural patients even from like cardiac caths. so you may have 5 patients total but one had q15X4 groin/vs checks. Had a time limit but still was hard to get in there every 15 min for an hour
@TheBlondeRN I work in IR; currently have 2 travel nurses; another one that was a traveler but recently changed to full time. As far as our Rad techs though we have 6 travelers right now 😬
@BabyyBlondeGirl My previous hospital I worked at and my current hospital in another state both take Heparin drips on the medical floors. Previous hospital we also did insulin gtts on the floor too
Went to the grocery store on my way home from work and one of my fave local breweries was there doing a tasting of 4 of their beers. What a wonderful start to the weekend #lovemycity#nola
@nursekelsey @paedsNP One girl on my unit at work got the majority of other nurses hooked on the series within the past 6 months and we all loved them!! Wish there were more to read!
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a thousand times: The treatment for an ectopic pregnancy, a septic uterus, or a miscarriage that your body won’t release is abortion. If you can’t get those abortions, you die. You. Die.
@TheBlondeRN A previous floor I worked on did 8s! The majority of us did 12s but a few preferred 8s and did those. We could also do a combination of shifts to get our hours in (2 12s, 1 8 and 1 4 hr shift). We did a lot of different hours too for 12s like 11a-11p and 3a-3p and vice versa
