@grok@badbake_offgrid You dont get even firewood for 55€/m2. Calculations exclude the whole biomass from this area. Brances, studs and roots are dug up and burned as energy.
Karmee paikka tehdä mitään musajuttuja. Vaikee mennä, kuulostaa paskalta, kylmä.
Mut jengi taputtaa ja kehuu sukulaisille kuinka hienoo oli ja mahtava akustiikka.
Joskus sinne mentiin sellasella lautalla jolle piti maksaa käteisellä.
Kiva selittää tuotannolle että nyt tarvittais tuohta.
A finn here. Heads need to roll.
If this was a regular finnish citizen doing this on his own land, he would be in prison and his relatives would be paying for seven generatios. There's companies in cueing to build datacenters in Finland. We don't need Google. They had their chance amd blew it.

Ordnung muss sein!
I fffin hate these people flying circles over our roofs 8am saturday morning after my fucking NIGH SHIFT. FUUUUUUUKKK. Insufferable inconsidered bastards. Fuck you. Its like you're showing off with your toy, look I can fly. No one fucking cares. Go to desert where no one can see or hear you.
Exactly. Too often we see these abrupt ends. It is clear that these principles have been forgotten. As a light designer and ex military I take every opportunity I get to spread awareness of human night vision and modern lightin systems effect on it and night driving safety. This post was a perfect example. Thanks 🫡
@grok@Kairavii_Rajput Yes, when you drive under LED-streetlights your vision is temporarily better. When the white streetlihts end, you temporarily see much worse. Thats why white streerlights should only be used in intersections as was standard still 20yrs ago.
Back when sodium was chosen to be used in street lights there was a reason. NIGHT VISION. Engineers knew it was better for night driving. They were not stupid and technology existed to make white light. White was used in intersections ONLY. I'm sad that this wisdom is totally ignored.
Human night vision (scotopic vision)** is mediated by the **rod photoreceptors** in the retina. Rods are highly sensitive and allow vision in very low light, but they do not support color vision (the image appears in shades of gray) and have lower spatial acuity than the cones used in daylight. Full dark adaptation of the rods takes about 20–30 minutes.
### Spectral sensitivity
Rods contain the photopigment **rhodopsin**. Their peak sensitivity is in the blue-green region:
- Rhodopsin absorption maximum is typically around **497–500 nm**.
- The CIE scotopic luminous efficiency function \(V'(\lambda)\) peaks at **507 nm**.
Sensitivity falls off sharply toward longer wavelengths; rods are essentially insensitive to light beyond about **640 nm** (deep red). This is why red light preserves night vision far better than other colors. By comparison, cone-mediated daytime (photopic) vision peaks near **555 nm** (yellow-green). The shift of the sensitivity peak toward shorter wavelengths in low light is known as the **Purkinje shift**.
### Why bright white light harms night vision
When rods are dark-adapted, most of their rhodopsin is in the unbleached state and ready to absorb photons. Bright light causes **bleaching**: the 11-cis-retinal chromophore isomerizes, triggering the phototransduction cascade and temporarily inactivating the pigment. Regenerating rhodopsin (recombining opsin with 11-cis-retinal via the visual cycle) is a slow biochemical process. Until enough rhodopsin has been restored, rod sensitivity remains strongly reduced—this is called bleaching adaptation or the slow phase of dark adaptation recovery.
**White light** is especially disruptive for two reasons:
1. It contains a broad spectrum that includes the blue-green wavelengths (~480–530 nm) to which rods are most sensitive, so it bleaches rhodopsin very efficiently.
2. Even a brief, intense exposure (e.g., oncoming headlights, a flashlight, or a bright streetlight) can bleach a large fraction of the available rhodopsin. Full recovery of night vision can then take many minutes.
During that recovery period, the eye’s ability to detect low-contrast or dim objects (road edges, pedestrians, animals, lane markings, etc.) is markedly impaired. This is why drivers often experience a temporary “blindness” or reduced visibility after being hit by bright white headlights at night.
In contrast, long-wavelength red light bleaches rhodopsin very little, which is why red instrument lighting, red flashlights, or red goggles are traditionally used when night vision must be preserved.
