The track was written by Ernest Kohl, with co-writers Daryl Carpenter (Irene Cara) and Grammy-nominated Steve Skinner (Broadway's Rent; Bette Midler; Celine Dion), the same team behind Kohl’s chart-topping #1Hits “To Save The Love”, “Follow Your Heart”, and “Say Adieu.” The song was produced and arranged by Kohl and Skinner, with mixing by Five-time Grammy Award Winner Chris Lord-Alge. This release marks a personal milestone for Kohl, as “POTENTIAL OF WE” was one of the first songs he ever wrote and recorded under his own name after previous releases were credited to other artists or group names. Originally released in 1985 as part of a double-A sided vinyl with the now classic track "I Think I Love You" on Unidisc Records, the original mix of “POTENTIAL OF WE” quickly became a fan favorite with dance music enthusiasts and a staple anthem in the dance music scene, particularly in legendary clubs like Studio 54, The Saint, Limelight, and The Palladium. This new remix collection, celebrating its 40th anniversary, reintroduces the track with a brand-new full-length maxi-single featuring 35 dynamic new remixes by some of today’s top remixers.
