In appeals court fight over the White House ballroom, DOJ says the federal government could quickly bulldoze the statute of liberty and no one would have standing to sue over the changes once the demolition is done.
One of Mamdani’s endorsed congressional candidates cut ties with DSA for promoting a controversial pro-Palestinian rally the day after Hamas attacked Israel. The other candidate attended that rally. https://t.co/mwZYUfxVfL
Mamdani-backed House candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier refused to answer for her past social media posts echoing Putin talking points over the Ukraine war, claiming US bullied Russia into invading.

"Pelley was not uncivil. He didn’t threaten anyone. He didn’t curse or scream. He was professionally disagreeable. Which is basically the job description for journalists. It’s the job description that Weiss herself wrote. She just didn’t mean it."

This is so insanely corrupt, I can’t even believe it.
More than half the donors to Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom just won over $50 billion in new federal contracts in six months.
And here’s the part that should make your blood boil.
Sixteen of these 27 donors were facing federal enforcement actions, antitrust reviews, labor cases, securities charges. Many of those cases have been quietly dropped or scaled back since Trump took office. You write a check, your legal problems disappear. That’s not a coincidence.
The White House won’t even release the full donor list. They’re hiding it on purpose, because daylight is the one thing pay-to-play can’t survive. A federal judge already ruled ballroom construction has to stop until Congress authorizes it.
Government is supposed to serve the people, not auction itself off to the highest bidder. When access goes to whoever pays the most, working families always end up paying the price.
We either end the corruption, or the corruption will end us.

On WNYC, Darializa Avila Chevalier says she's not "interested in relitigating the politics" of her resurfaced tweets assailing Democrats, Israel, the police and other people and issues because that's a "politics of the past."
Most of her resurfaced tweets are from 2020 and 2021.

Just a massive change in NYC's power grid this week. Getting almost no attention.
A 350-mile transmission line bringing hydro-electric power from Canada to NYC is now live.
Will provide enough electricity to power 1 million homes, bringing us to 40% renewable energy sources for the five boroughs. At last making up for the loss of Indian Point nuclear power plant, which used to provide 20% of our power.
The Champlain Hudson Power Express took more than 12 years to build. It was a tough political fight. Now we need to win many more fights like this.
