Navy Yard "luxury" apartment complexes have gotten so bad that residents are starting groups and putting up websites to fight back.

.@Brookfield is charging tenants for "shared spaces" utilities (gas and electric) and forcing payment for those utilities on a payment portal they own, charging an additional "management fee" each time you have to process a payment.

For a 650 sq ft apartment, it is an additional $90+ a month, even if you never use those amenities. That is on top of the utility bill you pay for your own unit, and of course, the $2.5k+ rent.

If you are considering moving to Navy Yard - I strongly caution signing ANY lease with Brookfield owned properties.
