@Soteriology101 I may eat from all the food at a buffet. It doesn't mean I'm going to eat from all the food. I'm going to choose what I want to eat.
It's not that difficult.
๐จ Leighton, of @Soteriology101, spends his entire career attacking Calvinism by claiming it presents a cruel scenario where non-elect individuals desperately desire to be saved, only for a cold deity to slam the door on them.
Yet, in his rush to weaponize Matthew 7:22-23 against reformed theology, he completely undercuts his own polemic by... affirming... that exact scenario as a reality within Provisionism. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
By arguing that unregenerate, non-elect individuals can genuinely desire Christ and seek His kingdom, he creates the exact scenario where people actively want salvation, call Jesus "Lord," and are explicitly rejected and cast into hell anyway.
This blunder directly violates the divine promise of John 6:37, which guarantees that Christ will never cast out anyone who truly comes to Him.
โLeighton should know Romans 3:11, which clearly states that "no one seeks for God."
The individuals in Matthew 7 do not demonstrate a spiritual desire for the true Person of God; they present a legalistic resume of religious works to demand kingdom rewards as transactional payment.
In his attempt to make Calvinism appear foolish, his interpretation forces him to adopt the very caricature he mocks, manufacturing a version of Jesus who explicitly rejects people who want Him and thereby violating the architectural promise of John 6:37.
@Soteriology101@RobChristisKing@jerry_duck48985 To be shown irresistible beauty and worth is not control but grace.
That is the work of the Spirit. To show the person who is used to darkness the irresistible beauty and eternal worth of the Light (Christ)
@Soteriology101@RobChristisKing@jerry_duck48985 Person B sees no beauty or worth in person A. So he have no interest in person A.
Person C (The Spirit) must reveal person A's beauty and worth to person B.
@Soteriology101 Two people lie terminal in the hospital. One believe that God has a purpose in everything and the outcome is in Gods hands.
The other believe that God has no hand in his disease and it's up to his own faith fight this enemy
Witch one is bound to complain??
@Be_Like_JChrist Jesus is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world.
Every saint from Adam until He comes again are and will be regenerated and washed in His blood
@CherylSchatz@craigiem12 I agree with Dr. White that the unborn who die in the womb doesn't go to heaven automatically. They are saved by grace through the atoning work of Christ crusified.
@BethanyMcGrew@ReformedCaio The Father was where He was when Jesus got babtized. The voice of the Father came from the heavens.
The Spirit decended on Him in the form of a dove.
The Father, the Son, and the Spirit fulfill different rolls in the Trinity. Those rolls lead to a unified outcome.
@BethanyMcGrew@ReformedCaio No, Bethany. The Father was not on the cross. The Spirit was not on the cross. The Son was on the cross, fulfilling His part of the redemptive plan of the Triune God.
@CherylSchatz@craigiem12 Yes, Cheryl, there will be unelected infants. And they will grow up and procure their own damnation. Calvin himself taught that it is a requirement for damnation.
Babies who die doesn't get an automatic ticket to salvation. They are saved by grace because they also need grace.
@BethanyMcGrew@ReformedCaio Do you really think Jesus was thinking about quoting David while suffering on the cross?
He wasn't expressing how He felt
He was grieving because it was what He was experiencing.
It was the redemptive plan of the Triune God from the beginning. It does not split but accomplish.
